Taking IGCSE Exams

Our courses provide suitable preparation for CIE IGCSE exams. They are geared to CIE and the specifications of the CIE syllabus, which we believe to be more robust than the Edexcel specifications.

You may register as a ‘private candidate’ with a CIE centre of your choice which is willing to accept private candidates. You will be sent full details when enrolling and can contact your chosen centre directly to make arrangements to sit exams. It is always well worthwhile approaching local schools & colleges which often prove helpful in acting as an exam centre.

You should remember that exam registration should be carried out well in advance. Exam dates will extend over several weeks and you will need to plan your exams well in advance.

Please be aware we are not currently taking candidates for exams at our centre, due to the risks of being quarantined due to Covid-19.

Taking Exams at Little Arthur

For students successfully completing their IGCSE courses, we run an Autumn exam session in October-November. For many, this is an opportunity to combine exams with a family holiday in Scilly's unique and unspoiled environment - but do book your travel and accommodation before registering for the exams.

On the beautiful island of St Martins, taking exams does not need to be a stressful experience. Geographically remote but easy to reach , the main island, St Marys, is served by direct flights from Newquay or Land's End or by steamer from Penzance during the tourist season. Penzance has excellent road and rail links with the rest of the country, including an overnight sleeper from London. From Penzance it's a short plane flight to St Marys, with a 20 minute launch trip across to St Martins.

The island is well equipped with a range of self catering accommodation to suit all pockets with rates being especially favourable in the Autumn.
