This course offers keen students the opportunity of achieving up to an A*/9 in Biology, and covers a range of topics including food chains and webs,  ecosystems, inheritance, reproduction in plants and humans, nutrition, respiration, nervous control, transport, characteristics of living organisms, and classification.

Although there is a strong emphasis on practical skills, home-educated students are able to take the 'alternative to practical paper', so that lack of access to a laboratory should not be a barrier to success.
